The Voice For Seniors was created by David Terry who is the owner and lead lawyer of the Terry Law Firm.  David has pursued justice for victims of nursing home abuse and neglect for nearly twenty years. In virtually every one of his legal cases, family members have done the best they could to take care of aging parents but ultimately placed them in nursing homes because they simply did not have enough information about how to be a primary caregiver for an aging parent with cognitive or physical decline. Family members often explore nursing home care and are told my nursing home employees and advertisements that the facilities will provide quality care “as though you parents are our own family members.” Unfortunately, all to often, that trust is betrayed and residents suffer through terrible neglect and abuse that leads to serious injuries or death.

The purpose of The Voice For Seniors is to provide as much information to adult children who are in the position of caring for aging parents so they can provide quality care for their parents as long as possible to avoid nursing homes. So often children are thrust unprepared into the caretaker role unexpectedly if a parent suffers an unexpected injury such as a stroke.

Since reliable information on how to take care of aging parents can be difficult to find, David Terry started this website along with its corresponding podcast and Facebook Group to provide information on ways to care for aging parents.
